Detailed Report of Incident |
| Law 10 - spear/dump tackle - dangerous play. 5 minutes remaining in match. Incident occurred mid-field as Nichols was moving forward with the ball. Wesleyan #3 - Antony Barker - executed a dangerous tackle upon the Nichols ball-carrier by wrapping below the hips, elevating and tipping the carrier beyond horizontal and driving him to the ground. No apparent injury, though the carrier was "winded." In my opinion, Mr. Barker did not act in a malicious manner. Mr. Barker was apologetic, recognized the err of his actions, and accepted the card without dissent. It should be noted that Mr. Barker was much larger and stronger than the ball carrier and appeared to lift him with ease. |
