General Pattern of Play |
| The game began with a very high level of energy with several hard hits. There was a larger than usual crowd that was very loud and not very sophisticated about rugby. More football-like.

Detailed Report of Incident |
| Champlain prop bearhugged a Lasell back, lifted him and dumped him on his shoulder. He did not flip to his head, but the tackled player was turned and dumped. Having warned both sides before the game about spear tackles, I had no choice but to red card the player. To the credit of Champlain, there was no argument. I don't believe there was any malicious intent and, from my point of view, do not recommend any unusual discipline.
