Weather and Field Conditions
Chilly late afternoon on firm and flat pitch marked properly and exclusively for rugby.

General Pattern of Play
Both sides endeavored to play positive, running rugby. Lots of go forward and generally sound tackling from most players. Both sides maintained disciplined respect towards each other, the referee, and the game throughout the match.

Detailed Report of Incident
Stamford was making a rare foray deep into Fairfield Prep's 22 when Mr. Lopez, a hefty yet athletic prop, caught the Stamford ball carrier with a tackle around the neck which upended him. I immediately blew a long whistle and showed Mr. Lopez a YC for his misconduct. Given the close proximity of a number of other Fairfield Prep defenders, I did not think a try was imminent. Soon after Stamford tapped the subsequent penalty, they scored a try to close their deficit to 5 points.
