General Pattern of Play
Well-contested match played in good spirit by both sides. Advantage swung from Connecticut to Vassar in the second half.

Detailed Report of Incident
At 75 minutes, the UConn ball carrier broke up the touch line, advancing toward the defending side's 22 when a Vassar loose forward reached out to try to slow her progress. Unfortunately, the Vassar player's arm first came in contact with the ball carrier's neck. The ball carrier easily slipped the attempted tackle but with the Vassar fullback and one of their wings lined up to take her on I immediately blew the play dead. At the time of the incident, I had a already awarded five penalties to UConn for similar sloppy tackles and had admonished the Vassar captain, informing her that the next high tackle would draw a card. While this was No. 7's first penalty of the match and was "unintentional," it constituted a repeated infringement by the team.

Both the captain and the player accepted the sanction without question and apologized on the spot.
