Detailed Report of Incident
Two players were chasing a loose ball, ball went into touch having last touched a Simsbury player. AR was signalling for a throw to Fairfield Prep, which I agreed with.

Time had expired for the first half, so with the ball having gone into touch I was about to blow the whistle for halftime. Before I could blow the whistle I was struck in the "mid to lower torso" region by the ball.

The ball had been thrown away in protest by the Simsbury fullback. I looked at him expecting to see an expression of surprise, perhaps an apologetic look, but instead saw an angry player who was not controlling his temper.

I called over the player and the captain (the captain was very apologetic), explained that disagreeing with the combined call of the AR and the referee was one thing, but throwing the ball away was petulant and unnecessary, and throwing the ball at the referee escalated this to a yellow card. (I also told the player that he was fortunate to not be receiving a red card)
