Hot, hot, hot. Sunny and humid. Match played on grass field at Brown University. In spite of the drought conditions across New England, the field was in great shape.

General Pattern of Play
For the first match of the season for both teams, the match was contested well and played within the spirit of the laws, except for a a few situations in the second half.

Detailed Report of Incident
Just two minutes after the first yellow card of the match, Worcester was working the ball into the Providence half. The Worcester outside center made a break and was horse collared by the Providence player and dragged to the ground from the collar, catching his leg underneath him. I whistled play dead and issued the offending player a yellow card. Fortunately, it did not appear that the Worcester player was seriously injured.
