Detailed Report of Incident
After Coast Guard's second try in the opening 5 minutes, Western Connecticut's restart kick was claimed by a Coast Guard forward, who jumped to claim the ball. Mr. Peterson barreled into the catcher in the air, making no attempt to compete for the ball. The collision cause the Coast Guard player to fall to the ground awkwardly onto his legs and backside. He was unhurt. I immediately blew the whistle and showed Mr. Peterson a yellow card for his poorly-timed and indisciplined action. Both sides accepted the sanction as a fair consequence and played resumed without any ill feeling.
