General Pattern of Play
Coast Guard had established the fact that they were going to tally a big score. The only questions were if WestConn could make it more difficult to score and if they could get onto the scoreboard themselves.

Detailed Report of Incident
In a rare instance of Western Connecticut carrying the ball, Mr Deely tackled the ball carrier low (good) then lifted his legs so they were above the player's waist (bad) and drove his shoulders into the ground (also bad). The tackle took place at a level close to the ground, which minimized the impact of the dangerous act, but it clearly fit the definition of tip tackle. I immediately blew play dead and showed Mr. Deely a yellow card.
