General Pattern of Play
Fast, aggressive game, dominated by BU, but UMass came close to scoring more than their 2 tries several time. Offending player one of the fastest players on the field, strong and aggressive tackler.

Detailed Report of Incident
10 minutes into the game, in BU's half, BU in possession of the ball, open play: Mr. Niles tackled BU player in possession of the ball. He lifted the player, turn him around (spear tackle) and brought him to ground. The BU player hit the ground on his shoulder - but could have been the neck or the head. I immediately stopped the game, discuss the offense with UMass' Captain and Mr. Niles, explaining that in this types of tackles I was starting at red card and worked my down to yellow because 1) It was the very first such instance of dangerous tackle of the game, 2) Mr. Niles did not drop the BU player, but went to ground with him, 3) the BU player hit the ground not on his back or neck or head. Mr Niles did not seem to understand what he had done wrong, but he left the field without protesting.
