Detailed Report of Incident
Nine minutes into the second half, a Bentley player had tackled the Middlebury #4. At the ensuing ruck, the Bentley player had a hold of the #4's jersey and the #4 had a hold of his jersey. The Bentley player was saying, "how'd you like that tackle." The #4 responded by head butting the Bentley player, opening up a wound above the eye. I whistled play dead and issued the #4 a red card. The Bentley trainer was able to stop the bleeding but mentioned the Bentley player who returned to play after being treated would need stitches to close the wound. The #4 came up to me after the match to apologize for his actions. He was sincere in his apology I felt and clearly acted in the heat of the moment.
