Match Report for

Saint Anselm's College Women (1st) vs. Bryant University (1st)
17 September 2016

Location: 100 Saint Anselm Road

Saint Anselm's College Women: 17    Bryant University: 22

Excellent first match for both sides...Bryant speed versus St A size...St A opened a 12 point lead on 2 tries and a conversion through winning rucks and driving through tackles. Bryant had a very fast outside center who was able to break off several long runs in the match which turned out to be the difference. Bryant scored on a long run to the corner and it was 12-5 at the half. Both teams traded scores as Bryant tied it, ST A went up a try and Bryant tied again, all with long runs. Tackling was an issue for both sides as several of the runs went directly up the middle after a ruck. With 2 minutes to go, Bryant won a loose ruck, and through several passes was able to breakthrough for a long score with tacklers at the try line, but the runner was able to get the ball over for a touch despite hands and efforts of St. A. It was a first rate exciting match. Coaches on both sides were excellent and showed leadership, intensity and gamesmanship.
