08 October 2016

URI and UVM played a scrappy match, marred by repeated infringements that interrupted the flow. Both teams, however, kicked penalties and conversions with confidence - no small feat given the steady breeze. UVM opened the scoring with a converted try to which URI responded with a penalty kick into the wind. After a penalty kick, UVM scored on a well-constituted maul off a line-out. At the half, UVM led 22 to 3. With the wind at their back, URI kept pressure on UVM, threatening to score during an extended attacking sequence, and finally broke through for a converted try. UVM, however, responded with a converted try to seal the match when a UVM player broke through the URI back-line scoring between the posts.

Referee: Christopher Ekman
