Match Report for

Burlington (1st) vs. Albany Knickerbockers (1st)
01 October 2016

Location: Tree Farm, Essex

Burlington: 17    Albany Knickerbockers: 27

On a perfect afternoon for rugby, Albany and Burlington played evenly in the first half. Burlington's scrum was dominant, often driving Albany back, while both teams struggled to find clean ball in the line-outs. After 15 minutes, Albany scored a try. Burlington could not find a way to take advantage of two good opportunities when their powerful and swift wing advanced the ball 30 meters or more and, adding to the frustration, Burlington failed to make two penalty kicks. At the half, Albany led 5 nil. In the second half, Albany took control scoring three tries, converting two of them, and adding three points on a penalty kick. In the last 10 minutes, Burlington began to find its groove, scoring three tires with one conversion. Time ran out, however, before Burlington could narrow the score any further.
