Burlington (1st) vs. Boston Irish Wolfhounds inactive
29 October 2016

Location: No location provided

Burlington: 10    Boston Irish Wolfhounds inactive: 34

The Wolf Hounds got off to a slow start, perhaps due to the four hour drive to Vermont. Burlington opened the scoring with a penalty try when the Wolf Hound's number 3 committed a high tackle a meter from the goal line. This was the second high tackle by the visitors. With a man in the bin, the Wolf Hounds began to assert themselves, scoring 10 unanswered points. Back to full strength, they added another converted try. Burlington slotted a penalty kick - penalties were an issue for the Wolf Hounds throughout the match - and the half ended with Burlington in striking distance, down 17 to 10. In the second half, however, Burlington could not maintain consistent pressure, despite the Wolf Hounds being down a man for 14 of the final 40 minutes due to a yellow and then a red card. The visitors added 17 points in the second half.
