Colby came out and utilized a mixture of punch and spread groups to advance into Tufts territory. A few penalties committed by the visitors pinned them further back. Only 5 minutes into the first half, Colby scored the first try of the game when an opportunistic Colby back intercepted a pass near the tufts goal line. The remaining 35 minutes of the first half was a back and forth affair with some tremendous Rugby on display. Colby continued to utilize both players groups to advance, while Tufts countered with some great forward play of their own. The game had its fair share of scrums, but both sides packed down very well. In fact, it was the best scrummaging I've seen at this level. Hats off to both packs for their hard work and discipline with this phase of play. The half time score was 5-0 in favor of Colby. The second half belonged to Colby as they scored 5 try's with all but one of them being converted. The Tufts ladies did not give up, as evidenced by the final play of the game in which their Number 4 took a pass at pace and broke several tackles on her way to a thundering 50m breakaway try. Good sportsmanship and attitude displayed by both squads. A good day of Rugby!
