Match Report for

Brown University (1st) vs. (1st)
24 September 2016

Location: Pitch is adjacent to Elmgrove Ave. Street parking available.

Brown University: 39    : 8

Conditions: sunny and warm, great pitch, good crowd.

Brown took an early lead scoring 2 tries in the first 10 minutes (both converted), followed by a penalty goal. The home team put a lot of pressure on Penn defensively and won several turnovers. After roughly 25 minutes of domination, Brown started to lose momentum and Penn has several opportunities to get into their opponent's 22. Brown were penalized several time at the breakdown (diving over, hands in the ruck...) and Penn scored its first 3 points on a penalty kick. Brown quickly recovered though and scored a third, unconverted try - score was 19-3 at half-time. The second half started with both teams making more handling mistakes and losing some discipline at the breakdown. Brown scored a penalty goal, Penn their first and only try (unconverted). The last 20 minutes were back and forth between each team's 22s, but Brown still dominated overall and scored 2 more tries (1 converted). Great rugby, great spirit.
