Match Report for

Boston University vs. Plymouth State College (1st)
08 October 2016

Location: Nickerson Field

Boston University: 13    Plymouth State College: 5

The match started fairly slow, both sides trying to gain advance and Plymouth had the advantage with most of the crashes, and playing a majority of the first half around the 22m of BU. At the 14th minute, the BU number 12 (Chris Ancrona) committed a dangerous tackle and was sent off. Prior to doing so, I spoke with the BU captain, and the Plymouth Captain came over to listen, and explained the many offsides plays were unfair to the other team and they need to ensure their tackles get lower. The first try finally came in the 36th minute with a run from Plymouth to the corner from just inside the 22. Conversion was unsuccessful. Whatever BU talked about at halftime must have been groundbreaking, and they were able to score a try underneath the uprights in the 3rd minute of the second half. Conversion was successful. A few penalties within the 22m committed by Plymouth gave a confident BU room to kick for points. One of which resulted in a Plymouth player (Logan Thompson) also getting sent off at the 13th minute. 2 of 3 penalty kicks for points were successful. As the game wore on, tensions started to rise slightly, and Plymouth fought to make it to the BU 22m to close the score gap, but were unsuccessful.
