University of Vermont Women: 24    : 12

This Womens DII College round of 32 match had UVM (NEWCRC #2) hosting Roger Williams ( Rugby Northeast #2). Great November day for rugby with sunny skies and temps in the mid 40's. A breeze added some chill factor but didn't factor in to play. RW knocked on the opening kickoff and UVM won the ensuing scrum, put together several pick and go phases then scored a converted try at the 3rd minute. UVM got the next points of the game from a well timed interception converting their second try at the 26th minute. Much back and forth through the half. Both defenses prevented any more scoring in the first 40 mins.

UVM 14-0 RW at half time

RW came out motivated in the second half and we're able to dot down a try(unconverted) 10 mins into the half. UVM earned 3 from a PK at the 60th min but RW responded quickly scoring a converted try at the 62nd min. Pick and go attacks with hard physical runs seemed to be both teams strategy. UVM's pack won a lot a ball from scrummaging. The last points of the match were scored from a scrum inside RW 22M went UVM won ball put it through a few sets of hands and scored another converted try at the 74th min. Played hard until the end by both sides but only one team could advance. Congrats to UVM who will go forward to the round of 16 at Vassar. Fun game to officiate with both sides showing great sportsmanship and spirit for the game.
