Mystic River: 7    : 20

Sadly the forecast for sunny and dry did not come to fruition, and instead we had a cold and damp day with drizzle on and off through the day. This unfortunately led to some handling challenges for both teams, and resulted in a much higher number of scrums than anyone would have really wanted.

Despite this, the match was still of very high quality, and very well contested throughout.

Interestingly, the rate of "tackle only" situations at the breakdown, where rucks were not formed, was rather high. Which led to a battle at the gainline, and certainly meant that when counter rucks did occur it was unexpected.

The first half appeared to be heading towards a 0-0 scoreline at halftime, until NYAC's #10 intercepted on halfway and sprinted clear for the opening try.

In the second half NYAC increased the lead to 12-0, before MR brought it back to 12-7, and the second half was very closely contested until late in the match when a NYAC penalty goal padded the lead to 8 points, and then with the final play of the match NYAC scored in the corner to leave us with a final score of 7-20.
