Providence College: 15    Bentley University: 18

Chippy and aggressive match right from the beginning. Beginning play showed issues with high tackles and ball control. There were mutual infringements for off-sides that were often immaterial and generally sloppy play at the breakdowns. Bentley #4 was issued a yellow card for a high tackle after repeated warnings to the team. This card was followed almost immediately by a red card for continued dissent from the player as well as unsportsmanlike conduct once he went to the sideline. See disciplinary report for more detail. Neither team responded well to attempts to manage issues in play throughout the match. The redeeming attitude was that of the Bentley captain who attempted to manage his team and listen to management throughout. The closing minutes were intense and saw a return to focus on territorial position and skilled play with a series of penalty kicks to tie for the lead, recover the lead and ultimately win the match.

Referee: Bryan Stephey
