Beautiful day for rugby and both teams came to play. Worcester scored first using a decent balance of forward and back play. Worcester really controlled the first half by maintaining possession of ball. By halftime they had punched in 4 tries to Portland's 1. Worcester came out in the 2nd and scored two more tries, seemingly putting the game out of reach. After some subs were made on both sides, Portland gained some momentum and scored 2 converted tries in 7 minutes, making the score 36-24 with about 3 minutes left. It was a long shot, but I believe the Portland side thought they could even the score before the final whistle and the way they had raised their game it wasn't far-fetched. But their comeback stalled and an intercepted pass taken for a try by Worcester ended the game. Good effort on both sides.
