This match took place under cloudy but temperate skies with occasional gusts of wind. The match kicked off a few minutes late as I was tardy to the field due to unanticipated traffic that added nearly an hour to the commute from Worcester, MA.

UVM kicked off to start the match. The first 15 minutes or so was marked by highly competitive, disciplined, physical play. UVM would score first at 17:30 and each side would go on to trade scores until the end of the first half. UNH's last try of the half came as time expired to bring the points total to 21-17, with UVM scoring 3 tries with 1 conversion and UNH also scoring 3 tries with 3 conversions. Each side was playing a distinctly different style. UVM's play was a grinding, physical approach based-off relentless pick and go plays at the breakdown and strong rucking on both sides of the ball. UNH was at it's best when they were able to get the ball out of the ruck quickly and into the hands of their quick and skilled backline. The second half saw a lot of that as the UVM attack wore down and UNH adjusted to keep the ball in loose play and scored several tries off of continuous phases and long runs. In all, UNH added 6 more tries and 3 conversions in the second half while holding UVM from scoring again. The final score came to 57-17 in favor of the University of New Haven.
