Match Report for

Charles River (1st) vs. New London County (1st)
16 September 2017

Location: Moakley Park, South Boston

Charles River: 38    New London County: 19

Warm, humid day. Match played on the not so ideal fields at scenic Moakley Park near Carson Beach in South Boston. Few syringes, rocks or broken glass.

New London started out quickly and put pressure on Charles River from the opening kick off. However, Charles River scored first on broken play set up by a long run by their backs. That, and fortuitous bounces seemed to mark the game throughout. Charles River ended the half 24-7 on top, three converted tries and one penalty to one converted try.

The second half saw a similar situation to the first half with fortuitous bounces and broken plays leading to scores. Charles River added two more converted tries while New London added converted and unconverted tries to round out the scoring.

Credit to both team's captains for keeping things well within the spirit of the laws.

Referee: Don Jennings
