N'Eastern had a hot start in the game's first eight minutes as they raced to a 12-0. It seemed that Tufts would not have the defense to contain N'Eastern's speed, but they quickly answered in the 13th with an unconverted. The visitors added an unconverted try in the 21st minute as they controlled the field position. During this period, both teams played a clean game as there was only one penalty.

The teams traded possessions as the penalties starting to increase, which Tufts took advantage in the 25th minute as they added an unconverted try. In the 40th minute, Tufts tied the game at 17.

After halftime, N'Eastern put the ball in the hands of their speedy backline, as they scored converted tries in 41st & 49th minute. Tempers started to flare on both sides, as high tackling become common. In the 55th minute, Tufts gained a man advantage but lost it two minutes later.

In the 60th minute, N'Eastern scored an unconverted try on a brilliant chase by their wing. Afterward, N'Eastern played a conservative offense to preserve their lead. N'Eastern added a penalty kick in the 78th minute to make final score 39-17.
