Professionalism

  • Indicate availability on the NERRS website at least 2 weeks in advance and inform  assignors directly of any changes in plans less than 1 week prior.

  • Post accurate scores and match reports promptly on the NERRS or Who's the ref website, including  information on cards given.

  • Accept assignments through WTR first, not through direct solicitation by clubs,  teams, players, unions, or conferences.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of the Laws of the Game, their application, and the  USA Rugby Game Management Guidelines.

  • Honestly evaluate their own performance and incorporate advice from others so that  they may improve their skills.

  • Refrain from publicly criticizing in any medium (including via social networking  websites) any club, team, match, other match officials, club administrator, or player.

Integrity

  • Place the safety and welfare of players, coaches, and spectators above all else.

  • Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every person by equal treatment regardless  of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

  • Be impartial, consistent, and courteous when making decisions.

  • Conduct themselves at all times in an ethical manner and observe the highest  standards of fairness.

According to Law 6.A.4, the referee is the sole judge of fact and Law during a match. As this is an onerous and responsible position. Itis vital that the referee conduct her or himself beyond reproach at all times.
